ClearCorrect Procedure

As an alternative to Invisalign treatment®, Dr. Stephen Malone and Dr. Michael Costa offer their Knoxville patients the option of ClearCorrectTM clear aligner therapy.

What is ClearCorrect?

Achieving the terrific, straight smile you’ve always wanted is effortless with ClearCorrect treatment! With ClearCorrect treatment, you can straighten your teeth discreetly and without giving up any of the activities or foods you enjoy in your daily life. ClearCorrect treatment consists of wearing a series of clear aligners to gradually reposition your teeth for a healthy bite and a beautiful smile. The nearly invisible aligners are made from a thin, smooth plastic that is designed to be comfortable and avoid irritating the sensitive tissues within your mouth. The material is so thin that patients can easily adjust to speaking with the aligners in their mouth, and you can even play instruments with mouthpieces!

The aligners are completely removable, which means that you are not restricted in terms of what you can eat or drink — you can still enjoy all of your favorite foods without fear of popping brackets or wires out of place. In addition, you don’t have to worry about brushing and flossing around brackets that are cemented onto your teeth, which means your oral health will not suffer due to the inability to thoroughly clean your teeth.

The ClearCorrect treatment process

Many patients are surprised at just how easy the ClearCorrect treatment process is. The first step is a personalized consultation with the dental team of Knoxville Smiles at Malone & Costa Dentistry. We will discuss what you like and don’t like about your teeth and evaluate your bite and current tooth position to determine whether ClearCorrect is right for you. Then, we will take impressions of your teeth that are used to create your customized series of aligners. Once they are ready, you will come into the office where we will give you the aligners along with instructions on how frequently to change them out, how many hours per day to wear them, and how to take care of them.

As your treatment progresses, you will come in for quick and painless check-ups, and once your treatment is complete, we will provide you with a retainer to wear at night so you can maintain your terrific results.

Differences between Invisalign and ClearCorrect

Like Invisalign aligners, ClearCorrect removable aligners are a simple way to align your teeth. Although Invisalign technology has been available and developing longer, ClearCorrect is highly effective.

Three distinguishers are:

(1) ClearCorrect does not charge for fabrication of the retainer at the end of treatment.

(2) if a patient is not completely satisfied at the end of treatment, additional steps are usually free for full cases.

(3) the fee for full treatment is typically less.

If you are unsure of whether Invisalign or ClearCorrect is the better choice for you, Knoxville Smiles at Malone & Costa Dentistry will perform an in-depth evaluation, and our dentists will explain why Invisalign might be the more appropriate choice for you.
